I put the Moby question on Learn this morning

This morning I published something on the school that I have been answering in DMs for years, usually with too many words and not enough calm.

Someone writes: I have a stretchy wrap. Do I also need a rebozo? Or the reverse: I bought a rebozo because a friend swore by it, and now I am staring at a Moby in the closet wondering if I wasted money.

Those are not stupid questions. They are the questions of a person who does not want to buy twice and still get the wrong cloth.

So I finally put the comparison where it belongs — not in this journal, not as another product caption — on Learn: Rebozo vs stretchy wrap. Woven Mexican cotton with fringe on one side. Knit jersey on the other. Same job family when you are holding a baby close. Different life once the baby grows, different wash, different cultural house. I am not at war with stretchy wraps. A good one got a lot of new parents through the first weeks. It is also not a rebozo, and pretending they are interchangeable is how people end up disappointed in both.

Who that page is for: the mama who already owns a Solly or a Moby and keeps asking if she “graduated” into something else. The doula who packs both and wants language that does not insult either tool. The partner standing in the shop on a phone, trying to decide before the baby arrives. If you only want a soft newborn nest and your educator taught that wrap, buy that wrap. If you want one cotton rectangle that can sift a belly, close a hip, and still carry a toddler on one side later, that is the cloth I sell.

What I will not do here is paste the table. The school holds the steady page. This letter is only the why. I got tired of answering the same confusion with half a sentence between packing orders. Better to send people somewhere that stays put.

If you are shopping while you read this, start with the cloth itself — the lengths and colorways that are actually on the shelf today live in the rebozo collection. Then open the Learn page before you decide the stretchy wrap in the closet is a failure. It is not a failure. It is a different object. Knowing that saves a return, and it saves the quiet shame of thinking you bought “wrong.”

That is this morning’s note from the school. One new compare page. No second glossary. Just the sentence I wish I had pinned years ago: your stretchy wrap is not a rebozo, and that is fine.
